Do Kirkland Water Filters Remove Fluoride?
Costco has very high standards but one look at their filter tells me the chances of it filtering fluoride is very low.
Mainly because the Kirkland filters look like the filters sold by Brita. Which when tested, were NOT able to remove any fluoride.
But maybe it’s different with Kirkland filters
So let’s test one and find out, starting with testing the tap water for fluoride…
According to the fluoride meter, the tap water contains 0.6 ppm of fluoride.
Allowing us to know the fluoride levels before filtering.
Which means it’s time to test the water filtered by the Kirkland filter.
So do Kirkland water filters remove fluoride?
According to the fluoride meter, Kirkland water filters do NOT remove fluoride. As fluoride levels were 0.6 ppm before filtering and 0.6 ppm after filtering.
Which is quite shocking as usually Costco products go above and beyond.
So I’ll just cut straight to the point, if you’re looking for a pitcher that CAN remove fluoride, the best choice out of all the brands I’ve tested would have to be Clearly Filtered (link to their website).
Note: if you plan on buying the pitcher, you should buy from Clearly Filtered (link to their website) and not Amazon. The price you pay will be cheaper and shipping time is the exact same if not faster through Clearly Filtered.
I say this because not only does it remove ALL fluoride but it filters the most amount of water contaminants and lasts the longest out of any brand, easily making it the best water filter pitcher on the market.
Plus there are many brands that lie about their filters removing fluoride. For example, there’s a popular filter from Europe called Klar, which in do Klar water filters remove fluoride – claimed to remove 90% of fluoride but my test results only showed 20% removal.
Now before you grab yourself a brand new filter, here’s one last thing to keep in mind…
