Do Santevia Water Filters Remove Fluoride?
To figure out this all important question, we’re going to test both Santevia filters.
The water pitcher and the countertop filter.
But before we test the filters, we first have to test the tap water to see what fluoride levels we’re starting with.
This way when we test Santevia, we’ll know if fluoride is filtered and how much.
Now let’s test the tap water for fluoride…
According to the fluoride meter, the tap water contains 0.6 ppm of fluoride.
Which means it’s time to test the first of two Santevia water filters.
Santevia Water Filter Pitcher
When it comes to water filter pitchers filtering fluoride, it’s a hit or miss.
Some filters remove it completely.
Some have zero effect on it.
For example, in do Brita filters remove fluoride, Brita filters removed zero fluoride.
While in do Zerowater filters remove fluoride, the Zerowater filters took fluoride levels from 0.6 ppm to 0.0 ppm.
And now it’s to turn our attention to Santevia.
So, do Santevia water filters remove fluoride?
According to the fluoride meter, the Santevia water filter pitcher does NOT remove fluoride.
As fluoride levels were 0.6 ppm before filtering and 0.6 ppm after filtering.
So if you’re looking for a water filter pitcher that CAN remove fluoride, your best option of all the brands I’ve tested would have to be Clearly Filtered.
Note: if you plan on buying the pitcher, you should buy from Clearly Filtered (link to their website) and not Amazon. The price you pay will be cheaper and shipping time is the exact same if not faster through Clearly Filtered.
And it’s also been tested by me in does Clearly Filtered remove fluoride, so there’s no doubt it’s removing fluoride.
Now with the pitcher out of the way, let’s see how the countertop water filter does…
Santevia Countertop Water Filter
Unlike the pitcher, the Santevia countertop water filter mentions fluoride on the box of the product.
However, Santevia mentions “fluoride reduction” which doesn’t tell us much.
This could mean only a little bit of fluoride is reduced or maybe all of the fluoride is reduced.
So without further adieu, let’s find out how much fluoride the countertop option reduces.
According to the fluoride meter, the Santevia countertop filter does remove fluoride.
In fact, it removes all fluoride, taking fluoride levels from 0.6 ppm to 0.0 ppm.
And with that out of the way, should you get a Santevia water filter?
Should You Buy A Santevia Water Filter?
After testing and using the Santevia countertop filter, in addition to dozens of other filters.
I would NOT recommend Santevia.
Compared to the other filters I recommend (discussed below) Santevia filters water very slowly, is not as portable, and is much more expensive.
In addition, Santevia is supposed to provide you with alkaline water but if you look at their Amazon reviews, you’ll see multiple people prove this to not be true.
Lastly, the filter is manufactured in China.
And I don’t care if you love or hate China, but that’s the last country you want a health product to come from.
