Mountain spring water from Western USA but does Arrowhead water have fluoride?
Now unlike most brands that contain little to no fluoride. When it came to Arrowhead, let’s just say the answer to this question was shocking to say the least…
Does Arrowhead Water Have Fluoride?
To best answer this question, I decided to buy a bottle of Arrowhead water and test for fluoride.
But before we get to the results let’s take a look at the Arrowhead water quality report.
Here’s a section of the report below, with fluoride levels circled in red.
So according to the Arrowhead water quality report, their sparkling and distilled water contains “ND” amounts of fluoride, “Drinking Water with Fluoride” contains 0.66 ppm, and their spring water contains anywhere from “ND” to 1.3 ppm of fluoride. With “ND” standing for “non-detectable” (less than 0.10 ppm of fluoride).
So distilled water and sparkling water get the pass.
While when it comes to Arrowhead’s spring water (the most common one sold) fluoride levels can range anywhere from 0.0 ppm to 1.3 ppm.
Now let’s see if the fluoride meter confirms these numbers…
According to the fluoride meter, Arrowhead 100% mountain spring water contains 1.1 ppm of fluoride. Which is far more than what’s found in tap water and would be considered an unsafe amount of fluoride to consume.
To be fair, the amount of fluoride ranges depending on where the water was sourced and unfortunately, Arrowhead does not make that information easy to find. And without being sure how much fluoride is in a bottle, Arrowhead should be avoided.
In fact, Arrowhead ranks with the highest fluoride levels of any bottled water. The only brand that came close was Starkey, which in does Starkey water have fluoride – was found to contain 0.8 ppm of fluoride.
But thankfully, there are many other fluoride-free brands you can find on my 127+ list of bottled water without fluoride.
And on that note, you should know just because a brand is fluoride-free – doesn’t mean it’s safe to drink.
As there could be many other issues like high levels of microplastics, arsenic or even PFAS.
