Different brand but the same question, does Sam’s Choice water have fluoride?
A great question, considering the health effects caused by fluoride.
So to figure this out, not only will we take a look at the water quality reports but we’ll also test a sample of Sam’s Choice water with a fluoride meter.
Does Sam’s Choice Water Have Fluoride?
According to the water quality report, Sam’s Choice water contains an “ND” level of fluoride. This means when they tested their water, a “non-detectable” level of fluoride was found.
This is pictured below, with fluoride levels circled in red.
Now, after testing dozens of different brands of bottled water, I’ve noticed that what the company says is not always 100% accurate.
Which is why it’s best to test it for ourselves.
And that’s exactly what we’re going to do next…
According to the fluoride meter, Sam’s Choice water contains 0.0 ppm of fluoride.
Ranking Sam’s Choice as fluoride-free water among the 187+ brands at bottled water without fluoride.
Along the likes of other brands like Arrowhead, which in does Arrowhead water have fluoride – was tested and contained 0.0 ppm of fluoride.
Now before we get to a HUGE issue surrounding bottled water, here’s a secret you should know about Sam’s Choice water.
The secret is that Sam’s Choice water is tap water.
And to figure this out all you have to do is look at the label of a bottle of water.
If it says “purified“, “distilled“, or “treated water“…
Then it’s a very subtle and polite way of the brand saying they used tap water instead of spring water.
However, unlike other brands, Sam’s Choice does not hide the fact it’s water comes from tap water.
In fact, in the water quality report it states they source their water from the “San Bernardino Municipal Water District” and use reverse osmosis to filter it.
Now, you may think the issue here is that Sam’s Choice is tap water.
But using a fluoride water filter like reverse osmosis makes safe, great and fluoride-free water.
The HUGE issue I’m talking about is that many of these cheaper brands (not all of them) are high in microplastics.
