One of the fanciest brands but does Smartwater have fluoride?
To figure this out, I tested a sample of Smartwater with a fluoride meter.
Plus stick past the fluoride results, as I’ll share with you a little secret about Smartwater and a list of the safest/healthiest brands of bottled water.
Does Smartwater Have Fluoride?
According to the Smartwater label, their bottled water contains 0 ppm of fluoride. This was confirmed by the fluoride meter which registered 0.0 ppm, confirming that Smartwater does not have fluoride.
This would also rank Smartwater as fluoride-free among several other brands on our 121+ list of bottled water without fluoride.
Just like Deer Park, Ozarka, and Great Value – all of which contain 0.0 ppm of fluoride.
Now let me show you how I got these results…
As you can see in the picture above, the label located on the Smartwater bottle states it contains 0 ppm of fluoride.
But 0 ppm of fluoride can mean many things (0.2, 0.5, 0.8 ppm). That’s why it’s best if we test it for ourselves and know for sure.
So here’s a picture of the fluoride test result.
This confirmed it for us but I’m not surprised.
Mainly since Smartwater uses a distiller to filter it’s water, which is a great fluoride water filter and was shown in testing to reduce fluoride levels from 0.6 ppm to 0.0 ppm.
And same thing applies to companies who use reverse osmosis like Aquafina, who in does Aquafina have fluoride, was tested and contained 0.0 ppm of fluoride.
Now before we celebrate…
You should know that Smartwater is just distilled tap water (that’s the secret) which you can easily do yourself with a distiller.
However, there is one other HUGE issue with certain brands of bottled water you should know about.
This issue is that even if a brand is fluoride-free, it can still be unsafe to drink.
Now this can be for many reasons but the biggest problem is that many brands of bottled water are filled with microplastics.
